melyh0403 3 Posted May 30, 2012 wondering if my life will ever be normal. I am a mother of four (10y, 3, 2, and 3 mth) and started back working yesterday. Today had been somewhat difficult. I've had NOO energy on the mornings, and some diarrhea with cramping several times the last few days. I'm afraid dehydration is to come although I can drink much more now that four days ago. Going to work has me around ppl who can eat normally and I really don't have any issues with that but when I even eat a couple spoons (using BABY spoons at that) I feel something weird. Almost that I'm full, but not really. Just very hard to describe. Is this normal?? Has anyone else experienced any of the same? I'm probably being paranoid, but need reassurance this is common and you to move on. I've almost started questioning if this was right...

kimmy*custis 276 Posted May 30, 2012 Yes, completely normal. I still feel like that sometimes and I am almost 4 months out. You will figure out the balance and be just fine. Best of luck to you!
fatiniowa 10 Posted May 30, 2012 How did you feel about work other than tired? Could you fake it and look like any other day, or did you have to sit crooked in the desk with the look of death and walk at 25% with a moan every step? I was thinking of using 1 week vacation and the apply for short term disability for 1 or 2 weeks longer, just don't hear many people talk about this.
DoctorWu 1 Posted May 30, 2012 I'm fortunate enough to have a job where I can work from home if needed and my boss was nice enough to let me work from home for 2 weeks. I'm on day 8 as well, I took the first week after surgery off completely and started back working from home this week and I can't imagine having to go into work yet. For one thing my office is an hour from my house in Dallas traffic, that right there would kill me all by itself. I"m having a very tough time with being tired and also having some pain if I sit too long, can't imagine having to deal with this at the office. Hang in there! RawrrAshleex3 137 Posted May 30, 2012 14 days out, and I'm with you. Fortunately, I don't have to report to work. I feel like this hopelessness is dragging on too
O.T.R. sleever 3,386 Posted May 30, 2012 wondering if my life will ever be normal. hmmmm, normal? As I look around me, normal seems to be.... Overweight, in debt, running in a hamster wheel trying to be what other people think you should be. I WANT TO BE WIERD!! Set your own goals & expectations & exceeded them.... Come be weird with me, and let all the "normal" people keep trying to impress eachother.
melyh0403 3 Posted June 1, 2012 I am a recovery room nurse, very hectic and on my feet all day, so yes, work he's been challenging but no more so than everyday life at home with four kids. Afternoons I feel totally normal, soreness is basically gone at this point also. I love what I do and guess that has helped ease that transition. I guess for me when I ask about "normal" was referring to eating again. I have difficulty getting down things like mashed potatoes....causes discomfort in my chest. I'm hoping that feeling does het better and wonder what causes it. Guess more than anything needed.someone to say they have experienced the same issues and yes...they all resolve. Thanks for all the input!

melyh0403 3 Posted February 19, 2013 Yes, it still occurs....occasionally. Definitely one bite to many causes it. Only last seconds but I try not to get to that point!
