CHELL 41 Posted May 30, 2012 I'm 5 wks post op n find that I'm actually hungry every couple of hrs. When I am I'm not able to eat very much and am still on soft cheese, soft fish, yogurt, eggs, etc. Is this normal or should I b worried that I'm feeling hunger so frequently. I'll add that I'm sure it's not head hunger or acid. It's actual hunger.
TheNewSusie 471 Posted May 30, 2012 I heard once you get to solids it gets easier. Because you will be eating more dense Protein it will keep you fuller longer.
Katie713 423 Posted May 30, 2012 It's absolutely normal. This is a perfect time for a high Protein snack between meals to get you through and keep up your energy levels. Try having a Protein Shake between Breakfast and lunch, and then again in the later afternoon. Or have a SF pudding made with FF milk or perhaps some cottage cheese with canned fruit like crushed pineapple. At this stage of the game, you are not eating much, so of course the body is hungry. No need to starve! Eat healthy and you'll be fine.

Dooter 1,457 Posted May 31, 2012 I had the same problem around that time. I was ravenous some days! It freaked me out. It wAs explained to me that the Grehlin hormones were still running around in the system and it takes a couple of months to clear out. I'm happy to report that that has gone away. Yes. Stay full on low fat proteins!

Stay full on low fat proteins! Oh thank goodness! Some days I feel like I am eating constantly yet still hungry at 1 month out. Glad to hear there is a light at the end of this tunnel! 1 Dooter reacted to this
SkinnyOnMe 81 Posted May 31, 2012 I am hungry every 2 hours but my doc told me to eat 5 meals a day not including drinks so I eat! She also told me 800-1000 calories. I track my calories on myfitnesspal and I am not over. Also in order to lose 2 pounds a week mfp says to eat 1200 so I make sure I NEVER go over that but I aim for around 900. You want to be healthy and not malnutritioned so my in non-expert opinion eat when you
