Belching

I've heard several people say that they have loud obnoxious belches right after eating since the surgery. I am kind of concerned about this since I'm a social individual. Is belching a side effect? Some please, please shed some light on this for me.

No, not for me. I do burp, but not so loud that it attracts attention and no more than before the op. Some people get the "full" burps. That means burps that occur when you've eaten ENOUGH!

I have actually had problems with belching. It seems like the hardest thing to do when I need to. I still have air in my stomach from the surgery. It will probably depend on the individual.

I'm a week out now - it was very bad at first, but it seems to have calmed down. It seems to be a combination of the surgery gas and the air I take in if I'm swallowing too quickly or if there's air in the shake I'm drinking. I think it's a good reason to stay away from work for 2 weeks after.

I don't belch but have a hiccup or two when I'm full

nearly a month out now. If I eat too much or too fast I burp a lot.
