Does Your Nose Start To Run When You Are Full?

Recommended Posts

A few friends have mentioned that their nose will start running once they've eaten enough food and I'm wondering if this is a way the body indicates that it's full... or can it be attributed to allergies in my part of the world (Dallas, TX)?

need2change,

sounds silly doesn't it... when I was newly sleeved my nose would run or I would sneeze when I was full... my husband who is not a sleever has always had a runny nose when he is full but we only realised the correlation once I was sleeved!!

Same here - My nose runs when I eat too much am I'm almost at the 2 year mark ... I guess when the little stomach gets full - it needs to push the excess somewhere?

I get hiccups first then within 10 minutes I get the runny nose. I love the fact my body gives me clues. I never had those before and my friends love it too....they know all my clues!

My nose doesn't run but I sneeze three times when I'm full. Strange. Happened before my surgery too.

I normally get the hiccups when I'm full, but for the first time last night, I had a few hiccups and then my nose started running. I told my DH, "Oh my, my nose is so runny, I wonder why?", and then I started feeling a slight bit of nausea. Finally, the light bulb went on, and I realized that I was full. This was the first time that it had ever done it. I remembered hearing some folks talk about it, but had never experienced before. It's amazing what our bodies will tell us if we will just listen to it!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
