Territravel 217 Posted May 29, 2012 I start my pre-op diet on June 2nd. I have to take a trip to NYC on June 4th. And will be flying most of that day. " it's an out and back trip", Since im not allowed to carry on liquids over 3oz I, was wondering if there are any suggestions as to what to drink?
Jbtoby 3 Posted May 29, 2012 I would carry a flavored Protein powder in its original packet and an empty Water bottle. You can get Water on the plane or in the airport and mix it together. Once you are past security you should be OK. I would also carry a letter from your doctor explaining what is going on. It may just quiet any TSA issues. Territravel 217 Posted May 29, 2012 Thanks! Great idea. TSA is the biggest issue. I haven't purchased my Protein drinks as of yet. Do they sell them in indivual packets like crystal light? I was planning on going to GNC and Walmart tomorrow. My Doctor is in Mexico, I havent spoke with him yet. Mostly reading as much as I can on this web site. Thanks again! Jbtoby 3 Posted May 29, 2012 I have something called WonderSlim that I got online. It comes in individual packets in a box. Each packet has 12-15 grams of Protein. There are clear drinks and creamy flavors. Good luck.
crystalaine 9 Posted May 29, 2012 Yes, you can get individual packs of Protein at GNC. You may have to buy a whole box, but then you will have extras available to keep in your purse, luggage, car, etc.... just in case. Just read on the TSA website that they will allow Water, juice, etc for people with medical conditions or disabilities. It says to not keep them with the rest of your liquids in baggies (shampoo, etc). Keep it seperate so it can be "declared". Get a letter from your surgeon explaining why your need the additional liquid. Or, as it says on their website, you can purchase drinks once you are in the secure boarding area and take those with you. I would think you would also be safe just bringing a water bottle and having that filled once you are past security also. 1 Territravel reacted to this
