I have my pre-op appt Wednesday afternoon and will have a nicotine test. I've been trying to be smoke free but I have failed a couple times :( I've been smoking for about a year (5-8 cigs a day) and "quit" 8 days ago. I broke down Saturday night when I was out with friends and smoked 4 cigarettes. Ive been smoke free since then and plan on not smoking ever again. Has anyone had any experience with this? Do you think I will pass? Also, if I don't pass, will they most likely reschedule my surgery or completely cancel it? My doctor is David Kim if anyone's wondering.

Thanks!

For your safety is very very important that you really quit. blood clot risk is much buggering you smoke and your body will take longer to.heal. I am not sure what kind of test your surgeon does or what his policy is, but make sure you are completely honest with him, even if it means rescheduling your surgery. I have a video on youtube in which I talk about blood clots and embolisms, you might want to watch it. That was always my biggest fear and it still is now I am 2 weeks post op and I know it's still a possibility. The good news is that according to a lot of research the increased risk because of smoking ia decreased almost immediately after quiting. But please don't start again after surgery because your life could literally depends on it. Good luck!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
