Dr Nick is wonderful, but he is more than $1000. He does provide lifetime care and access to a lot of support, though.

I'm going to a Dr. Gonzalez, but he's across the San Diego Border in Mexico. He is only 6300 :)

I live in fort worth but chose to go to Tijuana Mexico for my surgery. I used Dr. Ponce DeLeon he is very experienced and all my cost including flight, tips, and stuff I bought was $6000

Beauty - how much was your flight to San Diego? I will be leaving from DFW also (If I choose to go to Mx) but I will need tickets for me and hubby...worried that will cost an arm and a leg?

I'm leaving from love field instead of dfw because it's less expensive

Mine was $ 350 with taxes and fees and insurance included. I flew from DFW it was closer to me and it was the cheaper I found with less time on layover. I bought my ticket on priceline

Misty I would just suggest whenever you are shopping for tickets pay attention to total travel time, most have a layover, and you don't want to sit around in an airport for hours waiting post op

Met with Dr Gonzalez in Dallas. Felt very good about him & forest park surgery center but have decided to use a little rock doctor because of convenience. Now going with lap band instead of sleeve.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
