Don't Yell At Me!

Recommended Posts

o.k. So I am barely 2 weeks post-op and all last week I have been walking 1.5-2.0 speed walking. Yesterday, after 2.0 miles I felt faint. I try not to gulp my Water, but I drink about half a bottle in 2.0. Is anyone else having this problem? I am enjoying not having sciactica prohibit me from walking a mile, but am I over doing it?

I felt light headed during the first couple of weeks too. The walking is good, but take it slow. I remember not feeling as tired and light headed after week 4.

I would just take it slower. Your body is still healing and it sounds like your pushing it

Walking is great, but slow down a little. If you're feeling faint or dizzy, you're overdoing it a little. Keep walking, just ease up on yourself. You're not going to get the benefits of the jump start if you injure yourself right now! :)

I'd increase my Water intake and take it down a notch. Great start, Keep it up!

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I wish I could drink more Water, but 2-3 sips is all I can get in per stop. Oh well, I will slow it down.

Are you keeping track of your target heart rate? Do you have diabeties?

If it only starts after a certain level, then I would say just take it a bit easier.

Remember to not breathe in your shoulders, breathe in your belly. Poor breathing habits while exercising makes you dizzy sometimes - it also makes you hurt, feel tired faster, etc.

Pookey, You're so right on the breathing. That's one thing the trainer at the gym told me, that I have great breathing. I exhale while I'm exerting myself (with weights) and inhale as I slowly relax the movement. I also breathe deeply, which is something I learned in high school choir. :)

Since he said that, I've been paying more attention to how I breathe when I'm doing cardio and it seems to help me get through when things get tough during intervals on the bike. The more attention I pay to breathing deeply and not panting, the easier it seems to be to do those high resistance portions. I'm using it on the helliptical, too, and that's getting easier. I may actually try the treadmill again soon! LOL

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
