bwalker6880 1 Posted May 28, 2012 Hi everyone! I'm new to the forum and am excited to meet you all. I had my VSG surgery on March 1st (3 months) and have a question for the seasoned bariatric members: how many meals a day do you eat? I find that I'm eating about 3-4 meals per day, but am worried that 4 is too much as far as long term weight management goes. Granted, they're small (<200) calorie meals for the most part, but I often get nauseated if I only have 3 meals. Thoughts? Thanks!
Wheetsin 714 Posted May 28, 2012 I'm not seasoned, but I usually eat 3 meals with 1 or 2 Snacks. I need to in order to get my calories anywhere near where they should be (I'm still trying to up them a bit). It also helps space out the Protein, so I can get away from Protein Drinks.< /p>
rodswife 155 Posted May 28, 2012 I eat all day long. At least 6 times a day. We eat so little that every 2 to 3 hours I'm taking a bite of some kind of Protein or veggie. During the week, it seems I eat way less than the weekends though.
Wheetsin 714 Posted May 28, 2012 Oh yes, good point. 5 meals a day * an average of 45 - 60 mins per meal -- yes, it does feel like we eat all day. 1 rodswife reacted to this
RickM 1,752 Posted May 28, 2012 I started with six meal/snacks per day and dropped that back to five after a few weeks as I could then get enough nutrition in five by then and Breakfast and lunch were close enough in time that I could skip a morning snack. Now, in maintenance, I'm back to six a day to get in enough nutrition and calories (2000ish now) to be stable.
