Is Apple Juice Bad?

Recommended Posts

Some of the mio flavors do that to me. I really like the strawberry watermelon and the orange tangerine flavors myself. However' date=' if I put too much into a Water bottle, it definitely isn't a pleasant feeling. Kellog's makes a Protein Water mix that's also good to some people. I didn't care for it, but others swear by the pink lemonade and it's got 4 or 6 grams of Protein in it, which helps with the protein intake.[/quote']

MIO has PROPYLENE GLYCOL the same ingredient as ANTI FREEZE.

It's also used in ice cream yet somehow we don't blame it for that

Massindex your comment is actually making me feel bad for having a little apple juice. Im doing everything right, getting all my Protein and drinking all my Water. If i want to have some apple juice i will. My choices will determine my success and thus far i have made the right ones. Apple juice isn't going to bring me down as your trying to implore.

Sorry, I wasn't meaning to make you feel bad. I'm dealing with a niece who had the operation before I did and her BMI is still in the upper 30's two years later. She justifies her choices along the way after we looked at two weeks worth of choices she made. It was still on my mind and you didn't deserve that.

I think we want everyone to succeed here and a little apple juice now and then isn't going to hurt anyone.

I recently ended up back in the hospital for 5 days with spleen/liver issues and my dr & the nut there allowed me 1 4oz cup of concentrated suncup apple juice a day as long as I diluted it. I diluted it 1/4 Water & 1/4 water with fruit punch crystal light yummmm (so in the end it was 1/2 & 1/2). That was in addition to the saline bag with 5% dextrose.

Crystal light has some "mocktail" flavors that are really good! I have tried the Margarita, Mojito and Appletini. They are very tasty. I just ordered the Peach Bellini and Pomtini flavors... can't wait to try them. When I go out with friends... I take a container of my mocktail and have it served in a frosted martini or margarita glass and it is delish and makes me more comfortable standing around with my friends that are drinking.

Good luck!

Propylene glycol is non toxic, the only antifreeze it is used in is the newer envirmentaly conscience type (non-toxic & biodegradable). The more traditional toxic antifreeze uses ethelyne glycol.

My Dr says 100% apple juice is good for us , because it healthy any 100% juice is for that matter,we cant eat to much of the natural stuff cuz we need to focus on protien, so hes all for it, I drank it for a long time with Water ,but I just got tired of it,might go back to it later.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
