BoBann 42 Posted May 28, 2012 I am 3 days post op and I'm doing okay. I had to stay in the hospital one extra day but after doing so I can tell I needed it and it was all good. I still feel pretty rough but I took two weeks off of work so I'm sure when the time comes I'm sure I will fine. The one thing that is keeping me moving pretty slow is a pain on my left side. I think it is just a pulled muscle or something. I am having no problem getting my liquids or Protein in at this point. If I gulp I can feel some pain but I can take in a little more than a sip. I tire super easily. I get up, move around, use the potty, and I'm ready to rest. I fall asleep at a drop of a hat but its only for about 20-30 minutes. Overall I am doing pretty and am very happy 2 sabstar22 and MinaT reacted to this
MinaT 669 Posted May 28, 2012 Oh BoBann, it's so great to hear from you!!!! I'm glad you are doing well. I think you were the first person that said something to me here, and I've been hoping to hear from you!! I think the left side is the larger scar where they remove the stomach, so I've heard that is the one that usually has the most pain. I'm glad you are getting your Water in and you are happy and doing well!!!! When I joined I was scared and upset and joined because of bcbsil and waiting on approval, and now I'm 7 days into my 3 shakes a day. Hope every day is a little better for you! mommymar 34 Posted May 28, 2012 Congrats on the surgery! Your spirits are high and that is the best thing you can do in my opinion. I to am having major pain, however mine is on the right side, I have been fine the first 2 weeks after surgery but the last few days, this pain had come on. Hurts to breathe, move, talk and eat all I'm this right side (not attached to any incisions) by two weeks, I bet you will be ready for work. Keep up your great attitude and I wish you continued success! 1 BoBann reacted to this

mysleeve24 3 Posted May 28, 2012 I'm 3 days post-op also. I feel fine, just pain on the right side by the big incision. Can anyone tell me about how long it takes for the swelling to go down?
marybzw777 2 Posted May 28, 2012 Hi All.. I am 5 days post op today. I feel great. Today is the first day I have been able to get a whole greek yogurt down for Breakfast and an additional 8oz of Vitamin Water. Swelling seem to be subsiding more and more every day. Walking has been key for me. I have had very little pain associated with the surgery, just a little when eating and drinking, so just listening to my body to tell me when I have had enough. I tried a Protein shake yesterday, but it was just too thick. Will give it a try again today. I did also have a pain on my left side, I figured it was some organ that was moved out of the way during surgery lol. I also tire easily, so I take naps here and there. Listening again to my body so that it heals fast and safely. I am, so far, so pleased with recovery, and SO thankful for all the great care I received in the hospital and of course most thankful for my amazing surgeon!
