Lea Anne 17 Posted May 28, 2012 Has anyone else experienced pain in one or both of your hips after surgery? I'm 4.5 weeks post op and I have pain that I never had before. I'm down 50 pounds and you'd think that would make it better for my bones and joints! It seems to get worse every day - at first it was just my left hip the last 2 weeks and now my right hip hurts. Maybe just because I'm overcompensating...I don't know. I haven't done any exercise except walking and even then, I'm not walking all that much. I've tried tylenol and icy hot rub. They help a little but I'd love to know the cause. Thanks!
Shemy-away 83 Posted May 28, 2012 I have been noticing pain in my hips as well when I wake up in morning. I've also noticed it when I sit in one place to long on my tailbone. I've NEVER had that problem before! I don't know if it is because pressure from the bones being closer to the surface of our legs or just the drastic change in body composition pulling Calcium from our bones. Lissa 2,631 Posted May 28, 2012 Yep, the pain is caused by the fact that your bones are now exposed (less fat to cover them) and they are in contact with or rubbing against things they wouldn't have been bothered by before. My left hip hurts if I lay on it for too long these days. I just turn to the other side during the night. No big deal.
