I am 12 days post op and I am TIRED of being in pain!! :-(

The left side of my stomach where all of my incisions are hurts.. All the time. Really the pain mess did nothing and I have even tried Tylenol and that didn't do crap either. Most of the time it feels like there are tons of needles inside my stomach stabbing me. It also feels "heavy" for lack of a better word. Like when I stand up I feel like I need to hold it in.

I know no one can tell me why or what to do... But I had to vent to people who might understand what I am feeling. It's "whoa is me" Sunday apparently.

I also felt the need to always hold my stomach when I just has my procedure. I felt better immediately after I stopped taking pain meds, they made me to loopy and grogy. Once I stopped taking them I was able to focus on task like walking. The walking did really seem to help. I'm sorry your feeling this way and I hope you feel better soon.

It seems the more I walk the more tired and sore I get. I know they say walking is supposed to help but I am finding it hard. :-( Guess I just need to suck it up and push thru.

I've read on here that some folks used an abdominal binder, which seems like a good idea. I, too, always felt the need to hold pressure on my abdomen. Try a heating pad, it helped me. I had that deep ache on my left side for 4 - 5 weeks, but not bad enough for pain meds, but I used the heating pad especially at night. good luck, hang in there.

Funny i was thinking about posting the exact same thing! :)

I'm 12 days out also and damn sometimes i really hurt!

I have 4 cuts on the left of my stomach, and i haven't felt a thing from those, it's really like nothing ever happened.. NOW the right side is a different story, i have 2 bigger cuts and 2 smaller ones and my right side is bad...Doc said that's where he did all the pulling from and also took the gallbladder out. I guess i just expected this to only last a few days, and it has gotten better i can have a few hours with no pain but when it hits forget it..

Its like a severe burning and deep sore from the inside, i've done hot, cold, pain pills ect and nothing has worked for me...Nobody seemed to concerned even at my post op they said it was pretty normal..But i find it very hard to get motivated because the one day i did a real walk i paid for it for over day...so now i'm just doing very small walks but i feel like this is the time i should really be loosing the weight..

Oh this is hard!

Thanks had to vent too

Rai

I'm so very sorry you are you're are dealing with these nasty problems. They are no fun. :(

Many people have. hurt as much as you do. It unfortunatily goes with the territory. but that doesn't help you right now.

My right side where i had all those incisionsj were killing me, of course i sleep on the right side.. Slowly one night at a time, i felt alittle better.

I lived with a heating pad for about three weeks. It was so comfy, cozy. I really had trouble sittling down anywhere - i didn't know what to do.

I sooo hope you feel better, very soon. Bite your teeth sometimes., its ok. Hold a pillow to yourself, hug yourself.

I hope have anyone, family friend that you can talk to? That could help a little just talking.

if you don't have anyone around, just vent here - we've all been there done that. feel better

I know this doesn't help much now, your pain will gradually subside, you will be so happy that you had this procedure - and the misery you've gone through with will this pain - it really will be worth it end. I promise

You will be so happy you had the sleeve This tool of the sleeve will help you lose this nasty weight that you and all of have been fighting all of our lives.

take care, we're all routing for yoou ;)

good luck

we're all here for you

best

kathy

I knew this was going to be a few weeks of hell, between the not eating and hurting... I just hoped I'd be one of the lucky ones doing 3 mile walks a few days after surgery :) guess not

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
