The Old Fear Is Coming Back :(

Desertmom, THANK YOU for your kind and empathatic reply!!! it feels good to know that there are other people likeme :-) sometimes we need someone to say its ok. I am gonna start thinking about healthy, flavorful meals and not just how little calories can i force myself to stick too.

Foxbin, thanks for responding but that was already stuff i knew. I feel like alot of times on this forum website people like to give the Dr responses instead of being real. Have you honestly not given into or had struggles with hunger or cravings?

I am in maintenance now and eat a much more balanced diet. When I was losing, I was afraid that if I gave in to my cravings or went off program, I would not reach my goal. I had failed at so many diets I didn't want to fail again, especially after going through surgery to help. I did not give into cravings until I reached a normal BMI, and then I made a rule--weigh myself everyday, if over by two pounds, back to Protein again until the weight is off. I also have not increased my portion size since about 8 months. I eat small amounts of mostly Protein every two hours and I don't really feel hungry eating that often.

      Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
      What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
