I saw the doc for my four week Friday my blood pressure is low by about 5-10 points and I am having symptoms of dizziness and weakness with light head. He mentioned it could be dehydrohadtion but maybe them is tmi but was told to monitor my urin color and it is allways pale yellow only dark once or twice a week. Any advice on feeling better would getting I.v. Fluids raise my blood pressure he didn't give me any good fix other than jointer and I feel like crap.

I was sleeved 4/23 and Down 30lbs

its okay, i felt so low on energy and had all that in the beginning, but you just need to try to stick by the exact amounts of food and liquids they told u to have, i used to always not finish up my portions, just try hard to finish up the portions and have the Protein Shakes, and drink lots of Water, just water helped me a lot!! really it can work miracles, even if its very uncomfortable, just drink it, and maybe sugary juices, not like, drowned in sugar, maybe watermelon juice or something like that?

I had extremely low blood pressure right after surgery. It was 83 over 52. A number of things can cause it such as dehydration, anemia, etc. I wasn't getting enough liquids in and I had also lost a lot of blood in surgery and had low Iron. I felt so weak and run down. As soon as I focused on my liquids, my BP went up and I felt so much better. It is still much lower than it was before surgery (I'm 11 weeks out) 112 over 61. Prior to surgery is was about 130 over 70. I'm blessed with low blood pressure in general, but this is low. My doctor does not seem concerned about it so I guess I won't. Good luck to you!

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
