I've lost weight over the last six months prior to approval by staying at 800-1000 calories. It amounted to 8-10 pounds a month. I think 1000-1200 would be fine for maintenance weight if you are exercising.

How in the world do you fit 2300 calories in a sleeved tummy? I only ask because I eat around 1400-1600 a day without currently, and that is what got me to where I need to be sleeved!

hmr734- Im not a doctor or nut and I guess everyone is different. I can't imagine eating 1400-1600 calories a day and gain so much weight that I need wls. With tests, my doctors have determined my bmr is 1510. That's the amount I need to eat (at least) to maintain. So for me, if I ate 1600 calories I would not gain. My doctor is fine with 1600 a day for maintenance. I think everyone is missing the point. I was trying to ask what to do about Water weight and bloating. Even if people think 2000 a day is a lot of calories, mathematically, it only equals 500 calories over my bmr, so in 7 days I MIGHT have gained a pound. I could not have gained 7 pounds in 5 days. It's frustrating.

I would reduce sodium intake and chug chug chug the Water. If ur holding water it could be linked to recently having high sodium foods?? Try to eat several foods this week that are natural cleansers and see if that helps...bodies do some strange things sometimes...

My girlfriend just told me that your weight can fluctuate upto 8 pounds in a day so to Water.

I would suggest deep breaths & maybe a visit to your doctor for bloodwork to rule out any issues.

Wondering -

Sorry if my post upset you that was not at all my intention. That just seems like a massive amount of calories for a sleever. My doctor advised me that calorie intake would have to be 1000 calories or less to maintain weight loss. Admittedly, I am not very knowledgeable on this topic.

I have PCOS, and can go ten pounds up or down every week, so I guess I did not see the weight gain as significant as others might, I hope you figure out what is going on and begin losing again.

Beautifulnewme- wow! 8 pounds is crazy. Looking at my foods on mfp, I can see the sodium has gotten kind of high recently. I'll try to get that down as much as possible. Good idea. I did not know Water could make an 8 pound difference.

hm734- your question did not really upset me, I'm just frustrated with the whole situation. I did not mean to come across harsh,

I've drank 80 oz of Water today, I'll let y'all know if I'm in the bathroom all night :)

Before surgery, I've seen my weight go up 5 lbs from one day to the next because of a high sodium day. Usually, if I drank Water & watched my sodium it would be back down those 5 lbs within a day or two. This is one reason I like to weigh myself daily because I use it as a learning tool to see how my body reacts to different foods and water intake & such. Even stress and poor sleep can influence weight. I don't stress over the numbers, but use it to learn more about my own body. Take it easy & don't stress over it. Just get back to basics & you'll lose it again quickly. :-)

A gallon of Water weighs 8 pounds. If you distribute that water weight around your body the body can easily retain that much. Maybe 15-20% is regained fat, but the rest is likely water if not all of it. Take an over the counter diuretic or wait for the kidneys to get rid of it.

it's not time to panic yet! That is probably mostly period Water weight gain. Most women eat more on their periods or right before their periods. I agree that it is probably water weight. If the scale continues to go up steadily for the next few weeks then I think you need to re-evaluate what you're doing as far as calories. Are you still doing Protein first? I hope you figure it out

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
