I Need A May 1St Buddy! Im Feeling Depressed!

Recommended Posts

Actually we both have about the same amount to lose. And we have both done good so far. I know I may be depressed about the stall but I do know 32 lbs is 32 lbs And if it wasn't for my sleeve I would have struggled and started to put weight back on already. I just heat this stall. Ugh!!!

I completely understand! I don't think I'm in a stall yet cause every week I've lost, but I do know if I were to be exercising more I would have lost more. Which is why I can't beat myself up about it, cause I know it depends on me, how much weight I lose. Where are you from Brit? Hope you stay in contact

I feel the same way I am on a stall to. But o blame myself since I cheated and had soft foods and doctor wants me on full liquids. But I was feeling so light headed I couldn't take it anymore. But I don't eat much its just a little that goes down which is good and its one meal I do liquids the other time.

I was sleeved April 25th and u all need to become friends with me on myfitnesspal. Focus on your eating and exercise and not the pounds. I gave my scale away and I only check it maybe once a week when I visit my mom. Also, during my monthly.... there is no point in weighing until atleast 2 days after.

My user name is Shadayo.

Awe hon u are being too hard on yourself. Look at the positive, u lost 32lbs already! That's awesome. I am May 1st and yes in the last week the weight loss has slowed down. So I think its a bit normal at this point. U need to get out and do things to make urself feel better about urself. Like it has been recommended go get a massage or something u like to do.

Also, try taking a walk. Don't worry about how long or how far or how fast. Just walk. We are here for u and are proud of u!

Does anyone know why there is a 3 week stall? Medically or otherwise?

I got sleeved right after you, May 4th, and I'm also in a stall. I have gained and lost the same pound for the last week. I keep reading about the dreaded 3 week stall and am assuming that's what I'm in..... but like you I am so discouraged.

I had to do the pre-op diet for 10 days and lost 10 pounds on the pre-op diet, and was happy with that. I had my surgery and when I got home (a whole week later) I hadn't lost anything, and I was very discouraged but chalked it up to fluids and swelling. After I got home I started losing quickly and the weight flew off for a week. Then it was like I hit a brick wall and haven't lost since.

I've been walking and started gently swimming 4 days ago. I know I'm not as active as I was pre-op, but still have pain on my left side so taking it easy. I was able to start mushies today. I needed to lose 87 pounds and have lost 24 so I have 63 to go.

Hang in there..... you're not in your stall alone...... looks like a few of us are there with you.

I'm in a stall as well but I have also introduced soft foods already (Sleeved May 1st). I'm on MFP ~ jmcbride, I also do YouTube videos

and I talked about my stall this week as well as my rendezvous with Cheetos!! So don't give up, stalls are apart of the journey. Have you taken your measurements? Though I don't see the weight dropping, I can tell a difference in the way my clothes fit.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
