Barb7 0 Posted May 25, 2012 I'm wanting view points on the gastric sleeve. If you have had the procedure would you do it again? What are the long term results? I would like to have the surgery in July.
something2think 5 Posted May 25, 2012 in a heartbeat, without a doubt! the first couple weeks are tough recovery, but after that, smooth sailing and the weight loss is incredible! I feel great! 1 Barb7 reacted to this

CowgirlJane 14,260 Posted May 25, 2012 YES! I have written a few long posts about how this has changed my life - in summary, I am living a life I want to live now. I started out 150 pounds overweight - it is pretty hard to emjoy a full life carrying that load. I have had no serious complications and LOVE being free of the overwhelming drive to eat. 2 Barb7 and Glendaaus reacted to this

kemo46 82 Posted May 25, 2012 No doubt. This has been a life changer and actually saved my life. It reversed my Diabetes and I take no medication for anything. I have lost about 120 lbs. and hit my goal weight at 9.5 months from surgery. I am as healthy now as I was when I was a teen, probably healthier. 1 Liberated Sleeve reacted to this
MegInNOLA 531 Posted May 25, 2012 Yes, yes, yes. If you'd asked me at around the 1-month mark, I would have had a different answer--this is not for sissies!! But absolutely yes.
Puppies4us110 11 Posted May 25, 2012 I am 1 month post op & already off of high blood pressure meds. I have restriction now with the sleeve that I never got with the Band. I had the Band for 4 years. That I would never do again. The sleeve Yes Yes Yes. I had a rough surgery with a lot of scar tissue that the surgeon had to remove first & a rough, slow recovery (Im still not back to work yet ) but I would do it all over. Not losing quickly but it is coming off & I can really tell by my clothing. DD
Heatherr 149 Posted May 25, 2012 I'm 9 months post op and loving life. I am 15lbs away from goal, and it's been easy. I'm hot, poeple notice me, the hubby can't keep his hands off me, I got the confidence to go back to school and ended with a 3.97 gpa (still fighting for that 4.0) and I am just enjoying my life where I felt like I was just existing before. Every time I see an obese person, I just want to slip them a note with before and after pictures.
Heatherr 149 Posted May 25, 2012 I just want to add that I just feel so good. I still enjoy food. I feel like I eat normally, just a lot less than I used to and I have extra motivation to say no to bad choices. I crave shrimp, not cookies....for real. I LOVEEEEEEEEEEEEEE my sleeve.....like passionate, unconditional, undying love. 2 Liberated Sleeve and Eri reacted to this
