Wheetsin 714 Posted August 23, 2006 I've taken Aikido for a few years and IMO it makes for great self defense, especially for women, because it focuses on using someone's momentum against them. I've also taken it in the form of a self-defense class, and we had to practice on our instructors, and I can guarantee that it doesn't take too long to learn a few things that can really help you out if the need should ever arise - how to break someone's hold on you, how to get someone off of you if you're on the ground, etc. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
