Sleeved Three Days Post Op

Recommended Posts

Hi Friends,

I would have posted earlier but I've had a rough time so far. I'm still not feeling well and am in a lot of pain. Day by day it gets better. I have so much pain in the middle of my chest when I swallow and even sometime is spasams even when I not sipping. I know I'm not getting enough Fluid in. Any suggestions? I'm ready to get over the hard part. Thanks everyone for being here for me... I will blog my whole experience soon.

So glad to hear from you!! I was getting worried. I even posted on here to see if anyone had heard from you. :)

One day at a time. It does get better everyday.

Sip,sip,sip & walk,walk, walk.

Concentrate on your fluids. That is most important for now.

It's great to see the concern that this community has for one another. I was Very impressed that Kathy posted asking how you were doing Lisa. I'm so glad I found this community and hope others feel the same way.

I think Kathy hit the nail on the head... Lots of walking and lots of little sips. Seems like that's the theme of a lot of posts. Hope you start feeling better VERY soon!!!!!

Aww thank you so much Kathy. :) I really can't believe how much pain I've been in. When they did the barium swallow they said I was very swollen. Not sure why It has been harder for me. Now I'm just praying I don't have a leak when the swelling goes down. I don't know what I would do with my friends on this forum. Thanks again. I will keep you posted.

So happy to see that smiling little face on here today!!! Sorry to hear that you are having a hard time, just take it as easy as you can but just keep sipping!!! Remember when you get down, how far you've come....You are finally sitting on the losers bench girl!!! :) Everyday will get easier. I will continue to pray for your quick recovery and that things go well. Try not to worry about leaks and such, you are going to be just fine!!

Thank you everyone!! I'm still in pain and not sure why. Dr. did say I had a lot of swelling. Anyone else have pain in the middle of their chest like spasms or squeezing??? Just won't go away. I feel I could get alot better if that pain would get better.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
