Copyright laws

Recommended Posts

Anyone know if you can Copyright Jewelry Designs? I looked online at the Copyright website and at first glance it appears yes you can, but with all the legal ease speak it can be confusing. I wanna protect my designs but not sure how to go about doing that and if it is even possible what the steps are to take.

HELP!!!!:help: :help: :help:

I know that this won't be much help but I'm gonna say it anyway. I know that in IL and IN lawyers have to take a completly different bar exam for copyright and patent laws. I would contact a patent lawyer and get professional advice. ~Mandy

I think you can if they are truly unique and you are not trying to protect stringing 3 blue beads with a yellow bead or something similar. I haven't seen your work, so I can't speak to it. As always, your milage may vary, speak with a lawyer.

I think what you probably need to do is put a little tag on each one with your logo, name, or whatever on it. Ty, for example, does not have a copright on purple teddy bears, but they DO own the rights to "Ty Inc" and "Beanie Babies", so you can't call your purple bear a Beanie Baby.

Some things are just too generic to copyright. Little round chocolates with a hard shell are all over the place, but they can't stamp that M&M logo on them.

I agree with Carlene. I would copyright your company name/logo as well as the names you've given each piece of jewelry. That way, no one can make an identical item and legally call it by the same name.

Thanks for all your valuable input. I will explore the bowels of the Copyright laws and see where I fit in.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
