bob92 0 Posted May 23, 2012 I'm now 1 week post op and feeling better than ever. Had a new experience last night, however. I woke up three times feeling like I couldn't breathe. I was breathing through my mouth and was extremely dry. I don't have any signs of congestion, tried to adjust my sleeping position. but every time I woke up in the same annoying fashion. Are there certain diet foods that might cause this or certain meds. I didn't add anything different yesterday. Anyone else have this? Thanks Bob
JimmyGotSLEEVED 270 Posted May 23, 2012 Lack of Water intake is the cause for this. Increase your h2o and u will be fine 2 MinaT and Gettinhealthy reacted to this

Lissa 2,631 Posted May 23, 2012 Drink more Water, but you can also use Biotin Gel (sold at walmart) to help with dry mouth from mouth breathing. I use a bipap machine nightly and, even with the humidifier on it, I often wake up with dry mouth. The Biotin gel helps me not wake up with dry mouth as often. I don't know if there are any other brands of this, but it's found where the toothpaste is sold. 1 MinaT reacted to this
hhwhittington 14 Posted May 23, 2012 I had dry mouth for a couple of days, now my problem is that I seem to "spit" a lot. It's really annoying.
MinaT 669 Posted May 23, 2012 I have severe dry eyes and mouth due to medicines I must take for Glaucoma and Lupus. I take two flaxseed oil every day which helps with my eyes and I use Biotene Mouth Wash (can get at Walmart/Walgreens) at bed and if I wake up in the middle of the night, I use it, it's for dry mouth. Ms skinniness 3,003 Posted May 23, 2012 This is a symptom of DEHYDRATION! You might need to go into urgent care and get an IV push.
