So my sleeve was done may 15th in jerulasm hospital in Mexico, I had no issues until yesterday. Yesterday I had some veggies in my Soup and some bread, even though it was soft I am in pain today. I took a tyonal 3 but still pain. I hope I didn't stretch my stomach.

But in regard to the hospital and recovery house, it was small and at first scary but ok! Clean and very good doctors. I hope I can claim my sleeve on my taxes this year.

A lot of people find they can't eat bread post-op & veggies should be fine, as long as you chew them & they aren't too fibrous.

I am surprised you are eating so much already though! I was sleeved on May 10th by Dr Kelly & still on liquid diet with Protein shakes. No Soups or bread for me yet!

If you feel you need to take a step back & go back to liquids then do that for a couple of days, then try the Soups again.

Yes, bread this early is a no-no for most. It balls up in the stomach and sits there like a rock. Stick to liquids for 2 weeks, mushies for 2 more weeks and then soft food for 2 more weeks, after that whatever you want but watch the caloric count.

Taking it further, anything "white" like bread, rice, etc., should be avoided at all costs. This is a lifestyle change and it was 8 months before I touched a piece of bread. I still avoid it all costs. The tool you have been given just gave you a little wakeup and reminder. By the way, I had my sleeve done at Jerusalem Hospital. I very much enjoyed my stay there. Good luck and rock your sleeve.

bread and Pasta both make me hurt. They also stay in my sleeve for a long time and make it tough for me to drink Water. I avoid both.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
