disneyteach 68 Posted May 23, 2012 Hello pre-opers, I am nine post-op and I have lost 40 pounds in 22 days! That is right. My plan is to lose 50 pounds in a month. So is it worth it? YES!!!!!!! At the same time, I have this online forum, a monthly support group and I am exercising. So it is not foolproof, I have found you have to put some work into it. Believe in yourself! 1 vsgchichi reacted to this

disneyteach 68 Posted May 23, 2012 It's good that there are folks out there like Disneytech that can lose the weight pre-op. As for myself' date=' two weeks on a no-carb diet, some exercise when my gout hasn't been a concern, and I've managed to drop about 4 Lbs. Some of us aren't quite as lucky when it comes to the pre-op weight loss. So definitely do it if you can.[/quote'] Actually, I couldn't lose weight doing the no carb diet. Instead I followed the doctor's pre-op diet of Soup, Protein shakes, Jello, Popsicles and liquids. That is how I lost weight. As a diabetic, I found that my body needs carbs and refuses to lose weight without a different diet. Did your doctor give you a two week pre-op diet?
