:)

My sister and I were coming up with a name for my lose weight journal.

Here are some of the things we came up with. We thought they were funny anyway.

1-Pouch Grouch

2-Rear End

3-Gluteous Minimus

4-Matter of Fat

5- Bend Over

6- Diary Air

7-Chews the Right

8-Flab You Less

9-F.A.T- Forever Altered Topography

10-Broad Weigh

11-Mind Over Fatter

As I was "eating" my bfast this morning (1oz liquified mashed potatoes & 1oz yogurt) I looked at it all and thought this is definitely a matter where my eyes are bigger than my stomach! :D

One of the things that scares me about losing weight is that I'll be easier to kidnap.

Ok not really but it's a great one liner I repeat to myself lately. ;)

I have always been a big girl. My mother on the other hand was 5'1" and weighed about 100 lbs soaking wet. She had a major napoleon complex, which I grew up with. What that means is that you now have a very large girl with a napoleon complex personality. This = intimidating (even though I never meant to be). My biggest fear is that I am going to be much smaller, but have the same personality and expectations. I'm afraid of just the sort of thing you mentioned (maybe not exactly, but you get the point).

This reminds me of something I tell my friends all the time here at UCSB. Everyone says they are afraid to walk alone at night and I always say, "Look at me, I am twice as big as all the guys that go here!" -- most of the boys here are shorter and thinner like surfer guys. :)

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
