Not sure about the Atkins ones. You may want to type it in. My doctor gave me a list of pre op shakes that i can choose from.....it wasn't on the list. Not sure why. Seems like everyones pre op instructions are different, if they even have ANY LOL

I'm a fan of Premier Protein drinks myself. I also like their bars for Meal Replacements once you're back on solid foods. Most of the other RTD Protein Shakes I've tried have a funky aftertaste. As I get farther out from surgery, though, that aftertaste doesn't bother me as badly. I didn't like the taste of diet soda or beer the first time I tried them either, but I got used to them. I guess it's the same principle.

I liked the RTD muscle milk banana cream and cake batter flavors. You can get them at the Vitamin Shoppe or GNC or places like Walmart and the grocery store. I am not into chocolate so that was not an option for me. My sister likes them too.

One of the best ones that I have tried is Pure Protein 100% whey Protein Frosty chocolate. They have big jugs of it, it has 25gm of Protein. You can purchase it at Target and a few other chains. I use the magic bullet to mix it and it doesn't taste bad.

My doctor set us up with something called New Directions and gave us 42 individual packets of things, with variety and it was $200.00 for the 14 days of it, but I really like the Pure Protein 100% whey Frosty chocolate.< /p>

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
