Not Sure What To Call It...but I Am In The 300's!

Recommended Posts

I got on the scale this morning...thinking...please god let me be in the 300's finally...and low and behold...the scale read 399.6! I haven't been below 400 in 6 years! I am soooooooooooo excited I want to cry! Next goal...get to 350...whil is just 49.6 pounds away...That will be the smallest I have been in 10+ years...This tool actually is working! I was sooo afraid I would be the one that it wouldn't work for. I know that I could be down more if I would excercise more and be stricter on myself...but losing slow is a good thing too! Less skin to deal with hopefully!!

I call it wonderful! Very happy for you!

You did mention that you thought you could be more strict with yourself. Now would be a good time to catch any bad habits you are keeping and get rid of them for good.

At first you can still get away with things if you want - I have seen many posts to that effect, but later you will need the discipline and good habits for your sleeve to continue to help you.

But again - Yayyyy!

How awesome Brandymarie!!!! Congratulations!!!! I remember having those same thoughts: "what if I'm the one this doesn't work for"... it's so difficult after so many years of struggling up and down! BUT IT WORKS! :-) and it's so exciting!!!! I'm very happy for you. Hang tight, do what you need to do because with this tool it pays off!!! I can hardly wait to read more about your progress!!!!!

Yes, I am trying to catch my bad habits now and make more of a change..I have already changed so much...no soda's, very little coffee, lots of Water, counting my Protein intake...I am so happy with my steady weight loss...with the exception of the stupid stalls and my cycles being all retarded...but if those are the only negative side effects then I will take them! My goal is to be 100 lbs down by my birthday in September!

Take advantage of these early months to really get your eating habits changed. This the prime time to lose. We all have stalls and fluctuations but if there is a time to bear down and do the absolute best you can, its now. You can be a bit more lax about it later, because now is the honeymoon and you need to take full advantage of it. I am not saying be perfect but do your very best and you will be glad you did. Congrats for being in the 300's! Wooop!

@Brandy, I completely understand what your are feeling. I was over 400 #s for the last 10 years. I was excited to get below 400. I started at 439. At my last weight in I was 382. I'm happy to hit to milestones ( getting below 400 and losing 50 #s)

Keep up the good work. I'm rooting for you.

Ok I kinda hate these little names for "century" weights so this feels a little hypocritical but I've always seen the 300s referred to as "Threedom." Which really just makes me want to mis-sing the RATM lyrics. ;)

How exciting it must be to know that it is working!! I have the same fear that I will be in the 20% who don't lose or gain it back. I have another dilemma too... I had to post pone my surgery from July 6th to July19th. I guess the doctor wanted the holiday off and I had to schedule it around work things. Anyway, I am stressing because I have to fly to a conference in TX for work at the end of September. I am at 352 right now and fear that I won't be able to sit on an airplane. It has been a while since I flew. Is it realistic to think I could get down 60 pounds by then. I remember flying at around 290 and I could do it. I don't dare fly at this weight. Any thoughts. I don't want to be unrealistic but I also don't want to tell my boss I am too fat to fly.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
