So, I was bragging for a time that I had lost 70 pds in a four month period. However, I haven't lost any weight for several weeks. It is making me depressed because I am four months post op and I want to lose another sixty pounds. Here are some factors that might be contributing to my weight loss plateau. Everyday I have to drink six glasses of milk for the Fluid and Protein. Water literally makes me gag and vomit. Also, according to my doctor's plan I should be eating five ozs. I am only at four ozs and that is tough still. Any suggestions?

So much milk? Thats whats killing you right there. Try a zero carb Protein Drink or a EAS Protein Drink with 42g of Protein. Unsweetened cold Tea goes down pretty smooth for me instead of Water.

4oz is plenty. I would never push to eat more. Keep it small thats what you wanted in the first place right? Reevaluate what you eat everyday. Use a calorie counter to measure your intake. Fitday also shows me my sodium "which plays as a factor for me" and other nutritional info can play a vital role in figuring out your body. Manipulate manipulate manipulate till you see a trend as to what works.

The milk is a killer right there. Try other kinds of Protein Drinks. Try the Isopure clear drinks. 40 grams of Protein in 20 ounces and its only like 160 calories and no carbs. :)

Try mixing 8 oz of milk with 8 oz of Water and drink three of them instead of your usual six. Serve them real cold, and I bet you could keep them down. Good luck :)

I drink Premier chocolate High Protein Shakes. It has 30 gms of Protein and is delicious. Your doc is giving you a target in quanity. I don't know anyone who can actually get that much food in at 4 months. Don't push it, eat until you get full and I also have trouble getting in Water so I buy the low calorie G2 Gatorade and dilute with H20. It helps a lot and is low calorie. You can do this and you are probably in a plateau which is totally normal for now, but it is time to switch it up. ;)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
