S.E.Suburbs - Melbourne get-together ALL WELCOME

Recommended Posts

Hi guys!!!

Finally its all shaping up! For other aussies in Melbourne (or visiting Melbourne) we are organising a get-together, everyone is welcome and hope that we'll have a good turn-up. At this stage we have

Tarajane

Goannabanda

Jenny

wheeler (me)

The date is the 16th September around 12.30-1 pm at Costello's in Berwick. I have looked up on the internet where this is and the only one I can find is

Castello's Berwick Springs Hotel Cnr Greaves & Clyde Rds Berwick 3806 9702 6223. Am I looking at the right one, never been there so I wouldn't want to give the wrong address. Alternatively if we all live in the Mulgrave area we could go closer if you like, whatever suits everyone.

CAN'T WAIT :clap2:

I think my hubby wants to tag along too - is that ok with everyone?

Jenny - I could pick you up, as I practically have to go past Asp Gdns whichever way I go from my place. If hubby & son come, we'd still have room for one more...

:bump: Bumping for any more Aussies out there who want to come along.

It's shaping up as a family-friendly affair - bring partners kids etc. The more the merrier.:biggrin1: :hungry: :biggrin1:

I'm going to the Bandsters meeting at The Valley tonight - I'll see if anyone there wants to join LBT / our lunch. Maybe see some of you there later???

I am sorry for my abscence, I have not been very well and has been a bad ten days or so, even had to take time off work, which has not been necessary in the pas. In light of this, I have decided its best if I dont go on Saturday. The booking has not been made, but I dont think its too late, so if you want me to I will book for you or one of you can take over and book under your own name. I feel really bad about this and feel ashamed to do this in the last minute, but the way things are its best that I dont promise anything. Cant wait for October and be done with this, well I hope.

Let me know what you want me to do or if you will be making your own arrangements.

I am truly sorry and appologize

w.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
