sirensiren 67 Posted May 20, 2012 I've lost roughly 50 lbs over this past 5 months after surgery (yay!) and I've noticed a small to moderate amount of loose skin. My question is, does this ever just improve on it's own? In theory, I shouldn't be a "loose skin person"- I'm in my 20's, I have a personal trainer, I run, I have a diet almost entirely of veggies and Protein now, and I'm decent about getting Water in. Did things ever just snap back into place for anyone? I know for certain the loose skin on my formerly DD breasts is not going to retract- that I am certainly going to see my cosmetic surgeon about. I'd rather not have to resort to surgery for my abdominal skin, I am hoping that perhaps time will allow my skin to find it's way back home!
Mr_Worm 129 Posted May 20, 2012 I was told it does tone a bit on its own over time. Your gym routine will help the process of keeping it toned up. If it wasn't for my gym workouts and my trainer I'd have an issue with skin just for loosing so much in just 4 months. Keep at it and you'll be fine
sasicas 194 Posted May 21, 2012 It depends on a lot. Age, sex, genetics, exercise, etc all come into play with loose skin. I am in my 20s as well. My arms do not look bad, most ask me what exercises I do, until I lift my arm and let them see the wiggle My boobs, totally deflated, just skin is left. It's gross. My thighs, loose skin but not nearly as much as you would expect after losing 120 lbs. My stomach, well that is another story Now it did shrink back a whole lot. Way more than I expected. I carried a TON of weight in my stomach plus 3 c-sections and having carried twins meant it was all kinds of gross I did resort to a panniculectomy for that though, there was just no way it was going to shrink on it's own.
