Kinda Naughty Nsv Dont Fuss At Me

Recommended Posts

Same here, I order small amounts sometimes don't finish or even take some of it home. And remember guys nearly EVERYTHING is permissible - just use good common sense and eat in moderation, something the sleeve FINALLY allows us to do.

At one restaurant we visit we split an entree, take half home for a meal the next day - that's FOUR meals from "ONE" serving. Portions are just WAY outta control.

Another thing I notice is that I am enjoying food MORE now that I am eating LESS. I just enjoy the FLAVOR now rather than just striving to fill myself up.

Went to lunch with some folks the other day and while they all indulged in the 100% southern blue plate special of chicken fried steak & mashed potatoes with gravy at the diner, I ordered "scrambled" egg substitute and corned beef hash. Needless to say, that $5.25 was good for 3 meals and a snack. :D Just added some picante sauce one time, shredded cheddar another, and then picante & shredded cheese to mix it up a little.

taco bell has become one of the places I eat at now - I get whatever want and throw away the tortilla - be it a chicken quesadilla or tacos or even a mexican pizza, I eat the guts and throw away the wrap :)

You all are SO reassuring!! I had my sleeve Friday and was beginning to think I had made a HUGE mistake. I LOVE to eat, when I heal and get off liquids I was thinking I'd never be able ro eat again. Thanks for all your input!!

I've tried a Wendy's $0.99 cheeseburger and I can eat about half... sleeved 4/19. Bread/starch does fine for me, I have no issues with it but it does fill me up where Protein should be, so I eat it sparingly. What I actually really like from Wendy's if I'm on the go are the spicy chicken nuggets. Not great for you by any stretch from a fat-content perspective, but not any worse than a cheeseburger (better, in fact) and with less carbs and similar protein. I would never eat McD's chicken nuggets, they skeeve me out. But Wendy's are really good :)

Carls Junior has some great options too. The charbroiled chicken club is sooo good & they.make it w/ lettuce instead of a bun if you ask. Grilled chicken, cheese & bacon. 7 carbs & 30 Protein. Definitely multiple meals!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
