Im eating a meal now thats pretty much the same amount as a kids meal...im thinking thats alot of food at 4 months in comparison to what I hearing others are able to eat. I always gey my protien in first though. As far as liquids Im drinking mostly Water or sparkling ice. I really dont know what has happened...begining to think this procedure did'nt work for me. Any advice?

My pounds loss isn't great either i was sleeved on 2-29-12 but i have lost a ton of inches. My doc says because i don't have as much weight to lose I'm not going to lose as fast. My NUT has me eating 1/4 cup of food 5 times per day. My Protein should be at 80 but I haven't mastered that yet. I'm also required to do 60 minutes of exercise 6 days per week. I started off walking but have since joined the YMCA. Now I have much better variety and love Water exercises. My doc says if I'm not drenched in sweat at the end of a workout i didn't work hard enough. So maybe, you just need to change some things. Good luck just got off a three week stall so i understand. i also love to compare pictures don't let the scale discourage you

Andi,

If you go to your ticker and copy and paste the line that says bb after you create your ticker it will give you a little image that shows on your posts. Just wanted to give you a heads up that all I see is a link to tickerfactory.com

Just keep following your plan and STAY OFF the scale! Try logging your food on a free site (I use sparkspeople) it will help you make choices so you get enough Protein. DO NOT compare to others. We each have our own journey. Stay in touch! This board made all the difference for me.

You cannot compare yourself to others. We are all different and lose at different rates. Age, sex, height, weight, activity, genetics, size of your sleeve all play into weight loss. About how much do you need to lose?

Thanks everyone...I will certainly use some of the best practices given, such as smaller and more frequeant meals...increasing my excercise time...and loosing the comparison mindset.

Honestly I know exactly how you feel. I would log on and see other people who were sleeved around the same time as me and they had lost twice as much. I wanted to get frustrated but my sleeve wouldn't allow me to stop. The best thing I've done for myself is joining the Y because while I don't see my scale moving fast my clothes are getting to big and my body is getting toned from exercising and it's made me feel so much better!!!

out of curiosity this sparkling ice.. is that carbonated? cuz you really wanna stay away from carbonation. it can stretch your sleeve out. but honestly, 27 lbs is still really good, so don't be discouraged. I would try changing your workouts.. or if you are walking on a treadmill try walking outside.. you need variety in your workouts or your body will start getting used to the workout and it will eventually stop helping you.. you need to do whats called muscle confusion.. change your work out every week or at least every other week and you will get better results.

I thought sparkling ice was carbonated. I picked it up at the grocery store and put it back. Is it ok to drink that?

I don't think we should drink anything carbonated. when i am nauseous i will let a diet sprite go flat and drink it.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
