I have one of the most restrictive and slowest phase growing plans of, I think, about anyone I've come across on this forum....

I'm at 8 weeks post (OK on TUESDAY I will be), but FINALLY get to add in fish, eggs, cheese and Beans. Oh Good Lord it's been a haul.

I had salmon (all of about 1/4 cup) and it was wonderful!! Also had some chili. YUMMM!

I know a lot of others have been eating this stuff since like week 2, but I vowed to follow my surgeon's orders and I made it! To be honest I think it helped to break a lot of my head hunger in the past 2 months....Hmmmm...maybe that's the method to their madness.

Anyway, just wanted to share that I made it!! :D

Congrats for making it! Mine is slow progression too. I'm on clear liquid for 2 weeks, then full liquids for weeks 3-6, then puréed/soft weeks 7-12, then regular food from week 13 onward.

I've survived my first week of clears & lost 6.4 lbs so far & haven't had any head hunger so far.

Congrats on progressing & doing well with what you tried! :-)

Good for you! My head hunger came and went. I think only 3 or 4 times I can distinctly recall kind of bummed that I COULDN'T eat something.

Great job!! You've also lost almost half your weight already!! That's wonderful!! :)

Thanks Lissa! You are such a regular inspiration to me! I started my Couch to 5K today because you make working out sound like so much fun! Thanks for your constant support!

Thanks! I will. So far Water is the hardest thing for me to take slow - oh! And remembering to not drink while I eat. That's a toughy!

Nancy, Working out IS fun!! Even when I'm sweating and feeling like I'm gonna die, I make myself think about things like how good my arms and thighs (and butt) are looking and how much better they are GOING to look once I've done a few more workouts! THAT is motivating to me!!! :)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
