If your pain meds aren't working, CALL YOUR DOCTOR. Being in pain keeps you from healing quickly and properly. There is NO award for suffering. Also, pain that breaks through your meds could possibly mean you have a complication. Your doctor needs to know.

I'm still in pain too... Not that bad but sometimes I feel like I got the short end of the stick. I would definitely all the dr. If its that bad they need to do something for you. :-( Shouldn't have discharged you for sure.

I'd call the doctor. My pain was very minimal, even when I was IN the hospital.

today is day 3 and im feeling so much better. spoke to trish and she called Dr. Ponce while on the phone. everything is fine, I am so sore and could hardly move because is used so much muscle throwing up the first 24 hrs, i dont do good on anesthesia so i knew i would be sick just didnt realize to what extent, i showered by myself and walked, slept awesome and am ready for the beach today, I am now looking forward to living life with my new sleeve. didn mean to scare those who have not had it but everyone is different, my sleeve sister didnt have as much pain because she didnt vomit as much,

Jaymezee- I am right there with you! I just spoke with my doctor & am using ice, which ha been helping me. I alternate between ice and heat (for gas). My doctor does a deeper/ wider cut then some others. I am day 5 and am so bummed!! I know it will get better!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
