NJsharon 119 Posted May 19, 2012 My dr's wife gave me a bunch of splendas after my surgery, to use with the herbal teas she gave me. So I am allowed splenda.
ellis71 12 Posted May 19, 2012 My clear liquid diet allows sweeteners. I just don't use them.

MinaT 669 Posted May 19, 2012 Ah, I wish I could handle sweet 'n low, equal or splenda. I have to be careful and though I will have a crystal light now and then, if I drink or eat more than one thing a day that has sugar substitutes it gives me a Migraine and many of them cause me belly aches. This is pre-surgery...ugh. I have been able to handle the Truvia though, but it's really pretty expensive. I wish the price would drop and more things were made with it. I'm pretty sure there are store brands of Truvia available. Just look for stevia on the label.
MinaT 669 Posted May 23, 2012 I have tried store brand generic Truvia called Purevia it was pretty icky too. I am hungry and I'm tired, 3 days of the New Direction shakes is getting to me
ikwa 13 Posted May 24, 2012 Splenda is what I use. I hate Stevia/truvia, it makes an awful after taste in my mouth. Aspertame like in crystal light and Equal give me killer head aches. Plus Aspertame is linked to weight gain. Never liked saccarine/sweetnlow. I also use a tbsp of honey a day in tea since it has a low glycemic index and doesn't raise my blood sugars. Splenda is closest to regular sugar on a molecular level. So that is how I feel its best for me. 1 MinaT reacted to this
swilke 3 Posted May 24, 2012 My Dr. Said to stay away from sweeteners like sweet n low, splendra, equal, etc. he said honey, brown sugar, then white sugar. Said for me to choose things close to the ground. Home grown. I'm sure other dr.s have other opinion.
alliegb3 112 Posted May 25, 2012 My mom just got me Truvia. I recommend it wholeheartedly. Splenda left an aftertaste and I don't care for sweet low. But this Truvia is so awesome. Just thought I share. Yes, you can have it 1 MinaT reacted to this
LadyIvy 159 Posted May 25, 2012 I use splenda. I get over 100 oz a day because of it. I drink Decaf sweet (splenda) tea. I really can't even tell the difference anymore. We switched from sugar over a year ago and my husband instantly lost 10 lbs. We never went back. I hear a lot of good things about Truvia too.
