29 years old and just starting collage!

I don’t care I’m excited!

So what and when am I taking class?

I am taking my 2 Year Associate of Science Degree. Health and Kinesiology.

I start on the 29th of August!!!

I start with my “Government” and “Stretch and flexibility” course.

Then in Sept (25th) I start my “Math”, and “Athletic Injury” courses.

In Oct. I finish my GOVT. class and start my ”Speech” course.

Then everything comes to an end in Dec. Last class ending on the 17th.

I am taking 5 classes, 13 hour credits.

I like the way my classes are spread out; it gives me time to pay for the books! LOL

Anyhow, I knew I was signing up for collage but I had no idea I would take off this fast!

So now I am having to re-think my previous plans..

I will not be attending the Girls Scout Trailblazers camping event I have class that weekend….

I will not be able to fly to my Friends wedding in Oct. as I had been planning to do :)

I have class…

Neither, Sunday Belly dance guild nor Tuesday Fighter practice will be affected by “MY” classes (YAY) we are still waiting to see what Dales class Schedule will be.

Since Belly dance is not affected the Girl Scout meetings wont be either!

Labor Day and Emer’s Birthday should be in the clear too!

Halloween the only class I’ll have that Tuesday ends at 10:45 am! Weeeeeeeee!

I have no idea about November holidays compared to my classes, but I will be out before Yule Holidays!

Our weeks just got a lot more crowded!

I can’t wait to see what Dale is taking! I know we will have the same English comp 1 class.

All right enough already, I know your bored reading this LOL

YOU GO!!! - YOU will love it. It really fives you a greater sense of self worth - or at least it did me. After concentrating so long on my family - I needed to do something for me. School was first and Lap Band was second - hmmmm wonder what will be third.

I am 33 now and in Nursing School - for the past two years I have worked on my core classes and now I am starting the real thing tomorrow!!! I waited 13 years from the time I graduated high school to go back to college. I have a husband and three kids (7yr, 3yr, and 11 months) and school full time - it's tough - but worth it.

GOOD LUCK!!!

Congratulations, Nana, a new adventure is about to begin. I went back to school at 29, too, for seven years. At a low point about halfway through my first year I was bellyaching to my sister about how I was going to be 36 by the time I was finished, and she said to me "You're going to be that old anyway, what do you want to be doing then?" That sustained me through any further low periods, and I have absolutely no regrets.

So remember that if you ever feel like giving up, the time passes no matter what you are doing.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
