MirandaK 14 Posted May 18, 2012 Since I started on my liquid phase of the preop diet. I have this weird sensation in my throat. It feels like there is an air bubble trapped or a full sensation like you need to burp. Hard to describe. I think it might be acid reflux. I've never experienced reflux before. I took two omerorazole and I didn't see any change. I'm not affected by this feeling just annoying. Any ideas?
AKSleever 57 Posted May 18, 2012 Sounds like acid reflux! Try tums or Pepcid complete to see if it goes away
AKSleever 57 Posted May 18, 2012 Sounds like acid reflux! Try tums or Pepcid complete to see if it goes away Thats what I use! If it doesn't go away I would get it checked before surgery just to be safe
MirandaK 14 Posted May 18, 2012 I noticed this morning it didn't bother me when I woke up but after I got up and started doing a few things, and setting on the couch it's definitely there.
Wheetsin 714 Posted May 18, 2012 I've been noticing that I have an intermittent soft stop what feels kind of like my throat is closing, which I could also describe as something like an air bubble blocking my throat. I also have what seems to be between a soft stop and hard stop where I get a mild pain at the base of my throat. But it sounds like yours is there all the time...? "Stops" are generally only while eating, though they can last until everything clears up.
deltadawn817 106 Posted May 18, 2012 I have had this feeling since surgery some days it is gone but most the time it is there. I am thinking it is because I am having acid issues. I do take Zantac daily but if I am getting close to my next dose that feeling comes back again. I have also noticed that it gets better if I have something to eat so maybe it is my hunger sign.
