Odee 57 Posted May 18, 2012 Hi everyone ! I don't have my date yet but hopefully will SOON! My surgeons office said all they are waiting on is a letter from my primary doctor that he endorses the surgery and one from my Rheumatologist would be nice too. My question is do you write the letter for the doctor and have them sign it or do they write their own letters? My surgeons coordinator gave me the fax number and said " have them send it to this number". I will call her tomorrow for clarification, i was just curious if anyone had any advise on this subject. Thanks !! Odee
GivingItMyAll 168 Posted May 18, 2012 I asked my PCP and he just wrote that he was recommending me for the surgery.
Houston17 115 Posted May 18, 2012 My center gave me a template to have the primary doctor to go by. I'm sure that made it much easier.
NancyJerry 139 Posted May 18, 2012 My clinic gave me a template and my doc said she writes so many of them she didn't need it and wrote it for me while I sat in the room, then left with it. Bariatric clinic girls said that's practically unheard of for a doc to make it happen so quickly - lol!
MyGastricSleeveLife 180 Posted May 18, 2012 My surgeon said some PCPs just write something on their prescription pad. They didn't care what it was as long as it said they were aware of it and I could physically handle surgery.
ChristineS NY 44 Posted May 18, 2012 My surgeons office gave me a template also to give to my PCP. You might want to ask them if they have oneso that nothing gets left out of the letter from your PCP. Ive heard of that happening to someone and it delayed the process. 1 Odee reacted to this
