mrsflyboybs 62 Posted May 17, 2012 First off, can I just say I love this forum! You guys are freakin' awesome! Anyhow, I'm 4 weeks post op and I can't eat more than an oz at a time. And I still feel like crap after. I'm scared I'm stretching my tummy out. Even with the little amount of food. I'm thinking I may just stick to Protein Drinks the rest of my life. I have this paranoia that I'll gain the weight back and I don't want to go back to that weight. I know, it's more than one issue, but I felt like cleansing my soul. ; ) 1 rdoactv reacted to this
Wheetsin 714 Posted May 17, 2012 It took me a while to get more than 1 - 3 tbls down, of anything. I think I was about week 6 before I could do it. Honestly I'm in my 8th week and I can do 4 oz of sashimi. That's it. Everything else is in the "1 or 2 oz" category. Some things are still in tbls. Protein drinks, like anything else, can make you gain weight if you drink too much of them. You aren't going to stretch your sleeve eating an ounce. As for the discomfort, any chance you're eating too fast? I didn't think I was, until I actually made myself wait (timed it out) 2 - 3 mins between bites. Then it was like night and day. LBM 14 Posted May 17, 2012 Be careful with the brand of Protein. I am sure your surgeon recommended a good one (like Unjury) but it is tempting to move to the drugstore brands. Most have too many calories. You will lose and you will love it. 1 mrsflyboybs reacted to this
Indymom 132 Posted May 18, 2012 Trust me, you'll get past that feeling. It's the most wonderful thing in the world to sit at a restaurant and order something you really enjoy (of course with the exception of super-heavy carby Pasta dishes, etc.), and be able to eat a reasonable portion of it, and enjoy the hell out of it!! 1 mrsflyboybs reacted to this
