2 Days Post Op, Feeling Icky

I was wondering how long the effects of anesthesia last. I feel so "full" in my chest and arms it hurts a lot. I assume this is from the anesthesia at least...I just feel so icky.

Walk, walk, walk..... I am 6 days post op and I only felt crappy the first 18 hours or so. But I was up walking immediately and walked every hour or so. I never realized when I saw people recommending walking how much it helped. I have had 4 abdomen surgeries and never walked and felt groggy with severe shoulder pain. Not once have I felt shoulder pain or that groggy feeling. Just keep walking =)

As much as you walk you will start feeling better

I only felt yucky for about 30-ish hours post op. Mostly because I couldn't get up and walk due to nausea!! But as soon as I could I walked every hour or two around the clock. Middle of the night walks were quite peaceful. Like it has already been mentioned- walking will help a lot and you'll feel better everyday!

Thanks y'all! I definitely think its a lack of movement...correcting that as I type.

And I had my surgery at Crescent City Surgical Centre (by the Galleria) it was really nice there, I highly recommend it.
