Nature's Best® Isopure Zero Carb Rtd Fruit Flavors

Recommended Posts

I'm not posting this in the Protein subforum because it's likely a short-time thing and I think it may benefit people out there.

I finally stopped by a GNC yesterday to try one of these drinks. Normally $5+ per bottle, "apple melon," "grape frost," and one other flavor that I can't remember were marked down to $1.34 each. I asked if it was a nation-wide markdown or just for my local store and was told, "Probably nationwide." This is a significant savings and I know a lot of people here rely on these drinks, so it might be worth a call to your local GNC. I stopped by a 2nd store thinking I'd stock up more and they only had the "apple melon" but it too was marked down. So it's at least more than one store (though they could have the same owner).

I tried a grape frost lastnight and thought it was pretty good. The thickness of Protein Drinks has been making them very hard for me to drink, my sleeve doesn't like thick things at all. This goes down nicely. And Walmart carries a generic Mio that comes in plain grape. Together, I'm actually digging Protein Drinks again. Haven't tried the apple one, and I didn't buy any of the third flavor that was marked down because it didn't sound like something I'd like.

I tried some before surgery & didn't like the aftertaste, but for that price maybe I could deal with the aftertaste! That is a great price if it's nationwide.

Last night I looked online and the best price I could find still averaged out to $2.90/bottle (with a coupon) or $3.32 standard. So that price is definitely great.

I didn't think I'd like them, but I'm kinda digging the grape. It's a bit weird, but with that Walmart Mio stuff, it's good. I did put it in the freezer for a bit to get it as cold as possible. I don't think I'd like it neary as much if it warmed. It just had "that" taste to it.

Best is that so far I can drink it almost like Water & drink several mouthfuls at a time. Regular RTDs or home mixed usually take me over an hour.

My GNC is just across the street from my house so of course I ran straight over lol but it was a no-go here :( I'm in southern West Virginia. Thanks for the heads up anyway!

I will be stopping at GNC on my way home from work. Grape is the only flavor I can tolerate but I think I will take your idea and add some Grape Mio to it. Hopefully this deal is going on here! Thanks for the tip!

I drank those for 2 weeks following surgery. I swear by them. Maybe I will pick up some more for those days when I don't feel like eating much.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
