Thinner Peace 24 Posted May 17, 2012 I have 8 weeks off before I have to go back to work after being sleeved. DO you think this is enough time to go back to work full swing without feeling fatigued?
Lissa 2,631 Posted May 17, 2012 I think a lot depends on what you do for work. I was back at work and feeling fine in 8 days. I probably could have gone back sooner, but I waited until my drain was removed on the morning of the 8th day. I was at work within two hours of that. If you have a very physical job, though, you could need more than just the 8 weeks off work. Follow your doctor's recommendations.
Condessa 3 Posted May 17, 2012 I took 3 weeks off and then headed back to work.....I think 8 weeks will be sufficient unless your throwing one hundred pound sacks.

Skinnyagain 12 Posted May 17, 2012 It really depends on the type of job you do. I am nurse and was back at work in one week. I had my surgery on a tuesday and was back at work the following monday. It was hard and I could probably have used another week, but my job is great and I was able to sit as much as I needed. So I think 8weeks it plenty.
Back~To~Amy 307 Posted May 17, 2012 I'm still preop but just emailed my disability paperwork to the nurse today. She said they start at three weeks off and go from there. Since I'm on total liquids for three weeks, its nice to know I will be able to do that at home. I'm not sure why, but it seems to me like it would be better. ~Amy

minnie20 8 Posted May 17, 2012 I was off for 4 weeks and it was good that I had not planned on going back sooner because my first week I came across some complications which would have prevented me from work.

elizabeth12677 6 Posted May 17, 2012 I work in retail, store manager and originally took 2 weeks off. I went back last week for half days and was hurting afterwards. I think it really depends on you, but 6 weeks seems like a long time to me.
