*susan* 1,709 Posted August 20, 2006 Since being banded, I never drink soda. However, one time when I was stuck someone suggested taking a small drink of soda. I did and it immediately brought up the stuck food. Whenever I have a problem now, I drink a swallow of soda and it quickly alleviates the problem. Try this and see if it works for you. I hope you get to feeling better quickly.

stinaNYC 0 Posted August 22, 2006 I hope you're feeling better since you got stuck! In the future do the downward-facing dog yoga pose to help gravity pull the stuck food out...works every time for me without retching or stressing the band: http://www.yogabasics.com/asana/postures/downdog.html
Abbey 0 Posted August 22, 2006 http://images.google.com/images?q=Downward-facing+dog&hl=en&btnG=Search+Images That's the link for the downward-facing dog yoga position. Thanks everyone for your help. Gravity really helped move it, but it really took a long time, lots of pain, retching. I'm on liquids 3 days, blended 3 days, then back to regular. Still feel tender inside. ofps 1 Posted August 24, 2006 I've only got it stuck twice. I refused to vomit at first, then just gave up and relaxed and it came up. Second time, I leaned over and stuck my finger down my throat and it came up easily. Don't recommend this procedure on a regular basis. But after I tried everything I could do to get it to go down, then I knew it had to come up for relief. From this I have learned what I am able to eat, and NOT. Still on soft foods after being filled 3 weeks ago. Going for 2nd fill next week. Can do only soft foods or real crunchy, nothing inbetween. Hope you don't experience this again! ofps

Think long and hard about what you're eating, and about getting another fill.
