4mydogs 10 Posted May 16, 2012 I haven't lost any weight. It's all I can do to get in 45- 50 oz of liquids. What am I doing wrong? I am walking for exercise.
MinaT 669 Posted May 16, 2012 I was told today by my nurse practitioner not to weight myself for a week or two. She said after surgery there is a good chance that I will gain weight due to the IV Fluids and swelling. She said please don't obsess over weighing yourself for the first few weeks. It will come off. You are drinking liquids, which is awesome. It's most likely swelling and IV Fluid Water weight that has to get out of your system. Keep drinking and walking. Please be patient and congrats on the one week.
stacey131 51 Posted May 16, 2012 Same for me. So many reasons...but it does come off. I was retaining Fluid, I could feel it in my lower abdomen for the first 2 weeks...then poof it disappeared as I healed.
Melissa D 34 Posted May 20, 2012 So it's normal to be retaining Fluid after surgery? I'm 4 days post op, took a plane home today and my lower legs are swollen. When will that go down? I remember after having babies, I had to sweat it out & it seemed to take forever!
