I'm certain that I'm gonna have to have mine removed when I hit goal. Has anyone had this done? Was it painful? How do they go about it? What does it run???

Oh my gosh, the dream of wearing shorts!!! I havent since I was 12 and I hate summer because of it.

Hey fellow Missouri girl. I too am looking for answers to that question. I've been thinking about having it done also. I'm going to Sturgis this year and would love to have some great looking legs to show off.

Vascular intervention for spider veins is pretty simple. Do you have vericose veins? Insurance will pay for most of that it is a Same day procedure. Find a place that specializes. Hope you find what you need. Go for it!!!

What are the treatments for getting rid of varicose and spider veins? Is it painful?

Resurrecting a really old thread, due to an upcoming vein stripping procedure next week. Would love to hear experiences from others who have already had their veins stripped, and spiders schero'd.

I have had laser treatment for spider veins. It's not painful and takes care of them pretty well. There is bruising but it fades in a week or so. I do have 2 small varicose veins and they can't be treated with laser so I'll have to go to a vein clinic for those. Self tanning lotion is great for disguising veins too.

It's great to wear shorts again!

I had mine covered by insurance. It is called vein ablation, My dr said it is very common for WLS patients to get bad veins after weight loss. We have all that fat pressing on our veins and it holds them in. They pop out afterwards. I did get a DVT afterwards only small number get that 8%. I was on blood thinners for 6 months I am off of them now. I just had another follow up treatment. My legs look like a young girls.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
