I'm 5 weeks out...I get to start regular foods next week. I had some raw spinach earlier this week though and it went down fine. I decided I'm cutting out as many carbs as I can to speed up my weight loss, it was harder on the soft foods because of hot cereals, Soups and alot of Beans. Today I'm low carbing it...brought a mushroom 1 egg omelette with mushrooms for Breakfast, brought some salad greens, a little cucumber and tuna salad to top it off for lunch, my Premier shake for break, and I'm having a turkey burger for dinner. I really chew everything good...but have already started a week early on normal foods...hope that salad at lunch goes down ok, I love salads in summer!!

I was told I could have a salad at 6 weeks..but I was scared. Had one for the first time on sunday and I don't know what I was so afraid of. It was delicious, went down well and I could eat quite a bit :)

Thanks all for your feedback... I want to get back to low carbing because I am stalling which is normal BUT I know my body and low carb should get me back on track. I'm not used to eating all these starches like, oatmeal, mashed potatoes, Beans, etc....

I guess I will try eating some spinach or spring mix in the next week or so... See how it goes down....

Thanks Again!!

I am around 1,500 cals a day and can eat anything really... Makes me nervous but I'm more conscious when I eat now so I never truly over do it..... I have no issues with salad and can eat a lot more volume because it's so flimsy!!!!

Might start doing lower carb or something because I've been at 110lbs down for two months now and getting frustrating but am lifting a lot also....

Would love to get my old restriction back but not sure if there is a way to do that?????

I think I waited 2 months for salad. Now I always make sure do a very small portion as it does fill me up a little. Especially at a restaurant if I get an entree that has a salad starter - I love the salad, but want to be sure to get all my Protein in.

I had a small salad this weekend- maybe a cup of mixed greens and it went down just fine. Im 7 weeks out and I have been able to tollerate all foods well.

It tasted FANTASTIC and I was SO happy I could eat salad.

Me and my smug little sleeve.

An hour later I was sitting on the toilet- waiting for things to "run their course".

Moral of the story- make sure you have a toilet to your disposal when introducting new foods!

I have salads all the time, I am having one with a baked piece of salmon and apple right now....delish! I had my first one at about 6 weeks approx and had no issues. Good luck to you! Everyone is different as to what they can handle and when. Good old trial and error is all you can do!

Nothing has hurt my stomach at all (I almost wish it would  ) Seriously, just 5 weeks out and am kinda freaking out because I can actually eat a whole 6 oz yogurt just fine. Is that normal? Also, I am one of the lucky ones that started feeling hungry at about 3 weeks out, and I mean I get HUNGRY! Need some reassurance please!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
