Okay? How long after surgery when you start realizing that the sleeve is good and is going to help you lose weight. I feel bloated and fat. And I'm one week out.

I was a week out when I finally felt better. It takes a while to lose the bloating, you will be fine! Just keep up your fluids and walk as much as you can...worked wonders for me! Good luck to you!

Well I think its different for everyone but for me personally it was around day 8 that I had that.epiphany lol. My surgeon leaves a drain in till day 8 and when I went in to the office to have it removed I felt really good. Just follow all the instructions and it will all fall into place. Best wishes!!

For me about 6 - 8 weeks. At first I had lotsa gas even though I took previcid each day and gasx 4 times a day and my left side felt swollen n very sore at that time life and liquid food was yuck. When food started to be reg and I could then tell a small amt. of solid food filled me up and I felt satisfied with 1/3C at meals and the scale showed me the weight dropping off I also was able to stop all meds for diabetes and cut down on High blood pressure meds then I could say life is good!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
