I know the book said it's probably normal, but I'm freaking out- had some brown colored spotting this morning. I'm also just not feeling good- queasy with a little indigestion and tired. I'm worrying.

If you've had sex, that brown spotting could be from your cervix. Could also be implantation bleeding as well. Being nauseated and tired is normal and expect to get more tired as the weeks progress. Your second trimester you are the most energetic. As long as the spotting is not bright red and clumpy, you should be ok.

No sex, and we're at Six weeks so I doubt it's from implantation. However, it was thin and dark brown, so I think we're good for now. Trying to stay hydrated...

Your cervix is filled with many capillaries that bust. Yes stay hydrated and calm. I'm sure it's nothing. If your mind is still not at ease, go to the er. They may do an ultrasound and put your

Mind at ease.

Thanks TT!

Today was kind of rough- I've had a lot of queasiness and gas pain. I've been pretty stopped up, so I'm having Activia yogurt with my supper, and doing my best to drink more. I hope it helps, because I'm tired of hurting...

Also, how can it only have been a week since I found out I was pregnant?!? This is going to last forever. I will never have a nausea-free day again....

Yes you will. You will start to feel better in your second trimester. It seems like forever but it will end.

Bright red spotting is cause for concern, as is anything more than a minor amount. Don't stress it's normal!

I wish I felt queasy! I'm hungry ALL DAY LONG. I get shaky, dizzy and nauseated if I don't eat every couple hours. I guess the grass is always greener! Part of my problem is the progesterone supplements (three of them!) that I'm still on - they exacerbate any present symptoms. I even got sick last night from the smell of onions! Once I'm off hormones the symptoms should taper off and become easier on me.

Here's hoping, anyway.

How are you doing on weight? I'm curious. I'm in this weird place where the scale fluctuates by one to four pounds each day. Seriously - I weighed yesterday and was 137 and today I'm 141 - what's up with that? I know I didn't gain four pounds overnight. This has been happening all week with the bouncing up and down and I hate it worse than the hormone shots!

Ugh, feeling nauseous again so it's time to eat. I hope you have a good one and feel better today than yesterday.

Thanks y'all. Today was a short day for me- I slept most of it away. Our first ultrasound is the day after tomorrow (Wednesday)! I am so, so excited to get to see our little baby, and it's little heart beating! My mom is coming with us- this will be the first time that she will get to see the sonogram in person for one of her grandchildren. She is too excited!

We told the hub's parents this past weekend about the baby, and they are almost beyond being able to contain themselves. The next morning after we told them the new Grandpa went shopping for the baby. Then later that day he and the hubs went on a scavenger hunt around town for my favorite flavor of Gatorade. They both deserved an award...

Glad you're feeling better, that family is excited and that you get your ultrasound soon! I did a blood test today (quantitative beta) and I'll do one Thursday, too. This will give us some indication of whether or not we should mentally prepare for another set of twins. I won't have an ultrasound until the first week or so of August.

I'm off for a midday (where I live!) nap because I'm plumb exhausted. I can't seem to get through a day without a nap.

Good luck at your appointment!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
