Tomorrow I'm going in for a blood test "to see if the eggs were any good," in the words of my eloquent OB. In about three days I will be able to take an early pregnancy test and see if it worked! Fingers crossed! I don't really feel any different....

The blood test results came back- I ovulated! We just have to wait a couple more days to find out if I'm pregnant. At least if it didn't happen this time around, we know I responded to the treatments and we can try again. But hopefully there's a little baby in there somewhere....

Best of luck - be sure to update us here so we know how it went! I'm doing a FET (frozen embryo transfer) cycle right now. We did IVF w/ICSI in 2007 and these are the five embryos we had left. I take my first injection in a few days. Pretty exciting stuff, and much easier than the initial IVF!

Best to you - I'm sending positive thoughts your way.

Thank you Cheri! And rodswife! I took a test today. It was negative. It might still be a little early- it's been about 10-11 days since ovulation. If I am late for my period (if I haven't started by Tuesday), I will take another test.

Don't despair. All but one of my pee tests came up negative. I had to wait until I was actually late for the hormone to show up or have a blood test. 5 of the 6 required blood tests. Keep the faith.

Thanks, that helps me feel a lot better! I am really hoping it was a false negative. My boobs are really sore, but they usually are during the four days or so leading up to my period. I was reading some websites about all of this, and that also was helping me kind of understand what is happening.

Mine were real sore. Lol I had my nipples pierced with my 2 year old and had to take them out. That's how I knew I was pregnant even though the tests kept saying no. On the same day I had. Pee test that said no and a blood test that said yes. Baby dust coming your way.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
