Starting Fertility Treatments

Recommended Posts

Hey everybody! It's been a long, long time since I have posted anything, but I wanted to just put an update out there. I was sleeved Dec. 20, 2011, and have lost 54 pounds so far. The doc gave me the green light for getting pregnant a couple weeks ago, and I am doing my first cycle of Clomid. I am so excited! We go to count eggs in 2 days! I have been wanting this for so long now, and I can't believe it's finally happening. DH and I have been wanting a child for over 4 years now. We didn't find out that I had an issue until 2 years ago, and I was diagnosed with PCOS. I am so thrilled to finally be at this point, and hope so much that we can get pregnant right away!

Aw! That's awesome @rodswife! I would so love to have a house full of children someday too! Wednesday is the big day to see how the eggs are looking and I'm praying HARD. I wouldn't say no to twins. We've been waiting and wanting so long that a nice multiple birth would feel like making up for lost time, lol.

It will happen girl. Just keep the faith. My kids are 21, 15, 13, 11, 2 and 1. My younger two are 19 months apart and very much like twins. It gets exhausting but I wouldnt trade it for anything in the world. They keep me young. Ill be praying for you.

They found two eggs! I go back Sat. For the shot to make me ovulate. He warned me that sometimes eggs can just magically disappear though, so we are praying that they are both fully mature and ready to go!

Praying that they stay put and that you ovulate and become pregnant.

Thanks rodswife! I am getting excited- tomorrow morning I will hopefully get the shot! We'll see what things look like. I can't believe I will still have to wait two or three more weeks to know if it worked...

Waiting is the hardest part. A bit of advice a fertility doc told my husband I, start having sex now every other day so there is always a fresh Batch of sperm near the cervix so when the egg releases there is always speem there for it to attach to. Starting now instead of waiting til you ovulate increases your chances because you never know when you will ovulate. Also I used to take 30ml of mucus expectorant where the only active ingredient was guaffenisen daily. It helps thin out your cervical mucus making it more sperm friendly. Told to me by a fertility doc as well. It makes the cervical mucus less hostile so sperm can last longer. And lastly, when you do have sex, when you are done, lay there with your hips propped up for 20min before you even get up to clean up, pee whtever. It helps guide the sperm toward your cervix. Good luck girl. Sprinkling baby dust your way. I know how you feel. keep the faith.

Went back to the dr. this morning. The two eggs that they found Wednesday were missing or had shrunk back down or something, but they found a new one on my other ovary. And, it's a nice, big, happy one too! He gave me the shot to make me ovulate, so now we just wait and see what happens!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
